My role: Zine design, copywriter & photographer
“Off-stage” an Editorial design project on youth culture focusing on documenting Vietnamese young ballerinas behind the graceful stage light: their difficulties through daily practice. In order to carry out the zine, layout and research are the initial parts of the project, besides, prac- ticing with typography and showing my photography skill, image making have played important roles. Printing and writing content are also indispensable.
I went to Vietnam Academy of Dance, photographed the young ballerina at the age of 13 to 15 year-old, I also had a chance to take photos during the graduation stage of the Ballet Choreography course of Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema and the practicing session of Vietnam Na- tional Opera and Ballet Theatre. Taking photos, interview- ing the young artists and choreographers were my great chance to design and inspire me with this editorial project.
