LJMU's Graphic Arts Research: Redesign mobile app & signage for the VNMH

Graphic Arts Research project is a dissertation module from Level 6 study. This is the practical project includes two examples for enhancing which are a set of redesigned directional signs and 5 main screens to renew the museum’s audio tour mobile app.

Graphic Arts Research Project is combined of two modules: research paper/dissertation and practical project. This part presents the practical project based on the research question of ‘How can the Vietnam National Museum of History’s (VNMH) environmental design elements be improved to enhance the museum’s visibility and brand?’. The research paper explored and analysed environmental graphic design (EGD) criteria and pointed out the current limitation and suggestions for improvement to the EGD system of the VNMH. The practical project includes two examples for enhancing which are a set of redesigned directional signs and 5 main screens to renew the museum’s audio tour mobile app. The practical project deploits the brand identity announced by the VNMH in 2014 with their brand colour combinations: red-yellow, blue-yellow and purple-yellow. The directional signage redesign also obtains bilingual information display with Vietnamese and English.
